New vrCAVE game to let players swashbuckle from home

Why this matters to Alberta game development
Edmonton-based vrCAVE’s development of Heroes Together VR represents a significant expansion from location-based virtual reality into the consumer video game market. Developed under its Basement Bunker Labs brand, the cooperative roguelite is designed for Meta Quest and Steam and allows up to four players to play remotely from home.
The project builds on a decade of Edmonton-developed VR experience. vrCAVE originally specialized in multiplayer escape-room games for commercial entertainment venues and has expanded into corporate applications through AlignVR. Moving into direct-to-consumer games gives the company access to a much larger international market while applying technology and design experience developed through its existing VR products. Heroes Together VR therefore represents both a new Alberta-developed game and an example of an established Edmonton interactive-technology company diversifying into conventional consumer game publishing.
